osynliga

It is an instagram account (@oosynliga) that involves the artist’s sensory, intimate and uncanny photography using her body. Arising from a need for a “departure” from the self, osynliga is a photography project aiming to explore neutralization and anonymity using advantages of social media platforms, to again encounter with the self and the other while creating an in-between space for “intimacy” with sensuality of the body. The account attempts to curate mostly self-portraits and lonely -reflections of self- inspired by objects or creatures. It’s a room for questioning the relationship between visibility and anonymity.

In the photographs, the body is distorted or dissolved mostly with long exposure that gives temporal feeling and creature-like images. They are not named or commented-only using hashtags- to explore beyond verbal connection with the viewers. On the other hand, these methods are open to alternate over time.
